He is currently directing a study into Tennessee's Achievement School District, an ambitious initiative to reform the state's most under-performing schools. Dr. Glazer recently co-authored the book Improvement by Design (2014, University of Chicago Press), and has additional publications on the structure and function of school improvement networks and the education profession.

    LAURA GROTH is a doctoral student at George Washington University and works in education programming and policy. Ms. Groth is a member of a research team investigating Tennessee's Achievement School District. Her research focuses on school leadership and professional collaboration among educators.

    MATTHEW MALONE is a doctoral student in Educational Administration and Policy Studies at The George Washington University. Mr. Malone is a member of a research team investigating Tennessee's Achievement School District. His research focuses on charter schools operating in a turnaround environment. He has been a history teacher in Philadelphia and Washington, DC, and is currently an instructional coach.
