    VANESSA P. DENNEN is an Associate Professor of Instructional Systems & Learning Technologies at Florida State University, where she teaches courses on instructional design and research methods for new and emerging technologies. Her research investigates the nexus of cognitive, motivational, and social elements in computer-mediated and mobile environments. She is an Associate Editor for The Internet and Higher Education, and in 2012 co-authored a book, Virtual Professional Development and Informal Learning in Online Environments. She recently designed and taught a MOOC on Social Media for Active Learning and is working on a book on the same topic.
