EMILY A. DANIELS, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of graduate MST education at SUNY Plattsburgh. Her most recent work engages critical pedagogy and classroom praxis, specifically around the practices of caring, race, privilege and whiteness in the academy. She has a deep love of and connection to Freirean ideologies and practices, and strives to integrate these and “reinvent” Freire’s work personally and professionally. Currently she is working on a revision extending the conception of “armed love” which Freire spoke of in several works. In addition, she is seeking to create a book compiling her graduate students’ teacher research as well.
