    DORIS PRONIN FROMBERG is professor emeritus of education and served as chairperson of the Department of Curriculum and Teaching and Director of Early Childhood Education, Hofstra University, as well as a president of national and state professional associations. She serves on national and state educational advisory boards and editorial boards. Among her publications are The All-Day Kindergarten and Pre-K Curriculum: A Dynamic Themes Approach (Routledge, 2012); Play and Meaning in Early Childhood Education (Allyn & Bacon, 2002); Play from Birth to Twelve (co-edited with D. Bergen, Routledge, 2006); and The Encyclopedia of Early Childhood Education (co-edited with L.R. Williams, Garland, 1992). She presented a 2012 TEDx talk: “Kindergarten Today: Is the Match between High-stakes Outputs and Low-impact Inputs Cost-effective?” She is an advocate for high quality early childhood education, early childhood teacher education, and early childhood administrator education.
