    JUSTIN R. HARBOUR is a Senior Associate Instructor for Mastery Charter Schools-Thomas in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Harbour holds degrees from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and Harvard University where he studied history and history and government respectively. Mr. Harbour served as an inaugural member of the "Harvard and Slavery: Seeking a Forgotten History" research project, and as an associate for the Naval War College where he helped construct the "Aging Asia: Population Decline and Great Power Politics (2012)" conference. Mr. Harbour was the recipient of Harvard University's Lowell Scholarship (2009-2010) and the Harvard University Thesis Scholarship (2011-2012), and presented his work on power and the democratic legitimacy of the European Union at Harvard University's ALM Thesis Conference. Mr. Harbour is a member of the American Political Science Association, the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, and serves on the Adult Education committee of Old. St. Joseph's Church of Philadelphia, PA. Amidst teaching, Mr. Harbour pursues research into the ethics of American education, the purposes and uses of learning in a democracy, and the role of non-cogntive traits in effective students, pedagogy, and school design among others topics. Mr Harbour lives in Wayne, PA with his wife and son.
