KRISTEN CAMPBELL WILCOX is an Assistant Professor in the Educational Theory and Practice Department of the University at Albany. Her research interests center on identifying what instructional contexts support ethnic and linguistic minority students’ academic achievement. She has a background in teaching English as a second and foreign language at the Kindergarten through doctoral levels in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Brazil; has developed curricula at the k-12 and post-secondary levels for English learners; provided research-based school improvement tools and workshops to K-12 educators as part of the NYKids best practice project and teaches graduate courses in ESL, EFL, and foreign language methods, action research and qualitative research methods.
