Bread and Beauty

The Antigonish Movement is Adult Education for Action. Specifically, it is action toward making right some of the wrongs in the economic order. It considers tolerable economic conditions an important first step toward the higher things. It does not try to put Beauty in the place of Bread, nor Bread in the place of Beauty. It believes in both. And because it believes in both, it starts with Bread.
