Dr. Bode Replies

by Boyd H. Bode 1935

The Social Frontier is glad to print Dr. Bode's reply to our open letter in the October issue. The vigor of the defense leaves the prosecution temporarily breathless. The "High Command" now fully realizes that his qualifications for "Party" membership are beyond question in spite of his impeccable behavior in Pennsylvania. Now that the threat of a "purge" is removed, the Editors are in a position to examine the issues raised m Dr. Bode's reply more closely. The danger of overemphasis on the part of the school of the economic aspects in contemporary society to which he refers, and the distinction he raises between the approach of education and that of politics will be discussed editorially in the December issue.
