Educational Provisions for the Gifted and Talented in Other Countries

Ideally, this chapter should have been prepared after a visit to several countries and a close examination of the literature. It has only been possible, however, to analyze what is hopefully a representative sampling of significant literature on the education of the gifted and talented of a few countries--England, Germany, and the USSR. While there is some information on educational provisions for the artistically gifted, most of the writings concentrate on the academically talented.
