Curricular and Instructional Provisions for Individual Differences

When we reflect upon the great variety and extent of individual differences, we usually go on to consider their implications. It is at this point that we discuss the kinds of groups that can be used to reduce the demands on the teacher's time and increase the effectiveness of our instructional techniques. The only alternative to groups is individual tutoring, and this we must reject for many reasons—social, psychological, and financial.
