To speculate on the future curriculum worker is to attempt to reconcile those forces that have been shaping the field with a thrust that embodies the direction one would hope could dominate the field. These two concerns—to clarify the curriculum worker's past and to put forth a framework for changing his work—have dominated the writing of this chapter.
