    JULIE POSSELT is Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Michigan and a National Academy of Education/ Spencer Foundation postdoctoral fellow. Her research examines institutionalized inequalities in higher education and organizational efforts to mitigate these inequalities and encourage diversity. Her current projects examine racial and gender disparities in postsecondary access, degree attainment, and student mental health, with a particular focus on graduate education. Posselt is the author of Inside Graduate Admissions: Merit, Diversity, and Faculty Gatekeeping (Harvard University Press, 2015), and her research is also published in the American Educational Research Journal, Journal of Higher Education, Research in Higher Education, and Equity and Excellence in Education, among others. She is a member of the editorial review board for the Journal of Higher Education.
