Teachers Need Media Literacy, Too!

What is the current state of media literacy in professional development for practicing teachers, graduate university education, and undergraduate preservice teacher education in the United States? What efforts seem to have the most potential, and what kinds of obstacles threaten the growth of teacher knowledge about and skills in media literacy? This chapter examines the teaching of media literacy to the teachers.
