University of Utah E-mail Author KEVIN RATHUNDE is a professor of Human Development and Family
Studies at the University of Utah. He received his Ph.D. from the Committee
on Human Development at the University of Chicago in 1989. His research
explores two interrelated areas: (a) how optimal experiences (e.g.,
flow, interest, and intrinsic motivation) impact human development and
education; and (b) how characteristics of individuals and social contexts
enhance or disrupt such experiences.
