    TERRE SYCHTERZ is a Professor of Elementary Education at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where she supervises student teachers and teaches graduate courses in children’s literature and writing. Terre coordinates the Elementary Education Graduate Program. Terre coordinates and co-chairs the Kutztown University Children’s Literature Conference held every spring at the campus. Adolscent Rewrite Their Worlds: Using Literature to Illustrate Writing Forms (2015) by Vivian Yenika-Agbaw and Terre Sychterz is her current publication. Terre serves on the Editorial Review Board of the Reading Teacher Journal. She is the recipient of numerous grants. The focus of her research is children’s responses to picturebooks. Terre has written articles and presented on theories of childhood, controversial books, polysemic/multimodal texts, women in folklore, the partnership model of literature response, memoir writing, and student teacher preparation.
