    DREW S. FAGAN is a doctoral candidate as well as an instructor in the TESOL program at Teachers College, Columbia University. He is also a lecturer and K-12 field instructor in the TESOL Program at Touro College. His research interests include language teacher learning, classroom discourse analysis, and sociocultural theories of learning. His upcoming book chapter entitled "Confronting issues in language teacher education research: A re-examination of teacher competency" is due out Spring 2011 in the book Preparing language teachers for the 21st century edited by Anna Uhl Chamot, Leah Mason, and Anup Mahajan.
