Start making plans for the 2013 International Society for the Social Studies Annual Conference in beautiful and diverse Orlando, Florida. The 2013 ISSS Annual Conference will be held at the Fairwinds Alumni Center at University of Central Florida, February 28-March 1, 2013.

The ISSS conference is unlike other conferences. The conference staff, presenters, and participants foster a welcoming and academic environment that promotes scholarly thought and encourages professional discussion. Housed on the beautiful campus of the University of Central Florida, the ISSS conference also offers extremely low conference registration rates ($105 for ISSS Members). Orlando’s International Airport (MCO) allows participants to travel to and from Orlando with ease and low airfares. The ISSS Annual Conference has also partnered with a few local hotels that have agreed to provide conference participants with low rates ($79-109). Add the low conference registration rates to the affordable, fun, and convenient location of Orlando and you have the ingredients for an excellent conference experience at an extremely low cost.

The ISSS Annual Conference is very proud of the conference facilities and technologies. The ISSS Annual Conference provides all presenters with quality technology to enhance the conference experience. Every presentation room is equipped with FREE wireless Internet, LCD Projector, PC Laptop, video screen, and quality audio speakers. All participants have access to FREE wireless Internet.

With scholarly presentations and practical teaching workshops on various social studies related topics from prominent experts, the ISSS conference provides a platform for all educators to engage in rich dialogue about the social studies. For university faculty, teacher educators, curriculum specialists, social studies department leaders, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as P-12 teachers, the conference features presentations that appeal to all. The ISSS conference has featured presenters from across the United States as well as across the world.

The 2013 ISSS Annual Conference theme is "Contemporary Social Studies" and we encourage you to submit a proposal to present by November 25, 2012.

The International Society for the Social Studies is now accepting proposals. We seek proposals relating to the social studies at all levels. The online proposal application is available at www.TheISSS.org. While the proposal abstract is often written early in the preparation process, be as specific as you can. This helps the reviewers truly assess the quality of the presentation. The peer-review process typically takes 4-6 weeks.

The 2013 ISSS Annual Conference will be held at the Fairwinds Alumni Center at University of Central Florida, February 28-March 1, 2013. Orlando is a fantastic location for an Annual Conference: Attractions include Disney World theme parks, Universal Studios, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Sea World, Wet N Wild, and many more. Furthermore, Orlando is only minutes away from the Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, Daytona Beach and many other surrounding attractions.
